From Headmistress’s Desk
Krishna Bhabini Nari Siksha Mandir, an integral unit of our educational landscape, supported by the Chandernagore Municipal Corporation, embarked on its remarkable journey in 1926. Notably, it marked its inception as the first Girls’ English Medium Higher Secondary school in the Presidency Division of Bengal, thanks to the vision of our founder, Late Harihar Sett.
Throughout our history, we have placed equal emphasis on academics, co-curricular activities, and the holistic development of our students. We are proud to say that, with the unwavering support of our stakeholders, our journey has been one of consistent success.
In the realm of academics, our students have achieved commendable results. Notable achievements include a 9th and two 11th position holders in the Higher Secondary Examination of 2016, an 8th position in the Secondary Examination of 2018, and a remarkable 7th position in the Secondary/MP Examination of 2020. In 2023, two of our students secured the 8th position in the Higher Secondary Examination, continuing our legacy of excellence.
In co-curricular, sports, and cultural activities, our students have consistently brought laurels by securing top positions. The interaction between our dedicated teachers and students is exemplary, ranging from academic counseling to addressing their basic needs.
We have embraced modern teaching methods, utilizing tools like ICT projectors (K-yan) and providing laboratory exposure to enhance the joy of learning. In recognition of our dedication to education, we were honored as one of the Best Schools in West Bengal in 2016 on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
Our engagement with the guardian community is ongoing, with their valuable support and advice playing a crucial role in our school’s improvement. To foster closer ties with our student body, we launched an e-newsletter called “e-Sanjog” in July 2021. Recently, we handed over the responsibility of its publication to our students, which is now managed on a bi-monthly basis under the guidance of our teachers.
Recognizing the need for digital communication and the importance of staying connected with our well-wishers, we are excited to announce the upcoming launch of our school website in October 2023. This will serve as a vital platform for continuous interaction as we approach the centenary celebrations of our iconic school in 2025-26.
In closing, I want to express my gratitude for the collective efforts of our dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, supportive guardians, and the Chandernagore Municipal Corporation. Together, we will continue to uphold the legacy of Krishna Bhabini Nari Siksha Mandir and lead our institution into an even brighter future. Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to our school’s success.
